For brokers & independent advisors

Offer your clients a specialized income asset

Secondary market annuities are a specialized fixed-income asset class most brokerage menus never show. Pacific Structured Assets lets you place your clients into them directly, at direct pricing, with the asset underwritten in-house. You bring the relationship and the suitability call; we source, vet, and support the deal through funding.

The pitch

A story your clients have not heard

Most of your clients have never been offered an asset that pension funds and insurers buy for their own books. Factored payment streams are exactly that: fixed, court-ordered income from top-rated carriers, purchased at a discount for estimated yields of 4 to 7 percent. For an income client tired of CD and annuity rates, it is a genuinely different conversation.

The honest framing matters, and we hold to it, so you can too. These are payment rights, not annuities and not securities. They carry limited liquidity and single-carrier credit, and they are not guaranty-association protected. Placed into the right client, for money they can commit long term, that trade is a strong one. We give you everything you need to document it.

How it runs

Three roles, one clean placement

  1. 01

Bring the client, we handle the asset

You know your client's income goals and suitability. We source, underwrite, and price the payment streams. You match a listing to the client, we coordinate the court approval, assignment, and funding end to end.

  2. 02

    Every file is underwritten in-house

Most inventory is originated by our sister company, Catalina Structured Funding, so we control the asset from origination through court approval. We underwrite the court order, assignment, carrier obligation, and chain of title on every file, including streams we place from other originators.

  3. 03

    Your client buys direct

No minimum and no retail markup layered on top. Your client steps into a court-approved schedule from a top-rated carrier at a discount, and sees the estimated yield, price, and full payment schedule before committing.

The underwriting

You place what we control

Most of the streams we place are originated by our sister company, Catalina Structured Funding, an established structured settlement funder, so we are not reselling paper we have never examined. We underwrite every file ourselves before it reaches inventory:

Court order
Every transfer completes by a court order reviewed against the applicable state Structured Settlement Protection Act, a matter of public record, not a private handshake.
Assignment
The assignment of the payment rights to the investor is documented and recorded, so the right to receive the schedule sits clearly with your client.
Carrier obligation
We confirm the paying carrier and its rating and that the obligation is the insurer's own, so you know exactly who stands behind the payments.
Chain of title
We trace the stream from origination through every prior transfer, so title is clean and unencumbered before it reaches inventory.

When we place a stream from another originator we have a relationship with, it clears that same standard. Read more about the assets on our secondary market annuities guide or where they sit in a portfolio on our fixed income ladder.

Advisor questions, answered straight

What exactly is my client buying?
The court-approved right to receive a fixed schedule of payments, purchased at a discount to the total scheduled amount. These are factored structured settlement payment rights and similar assigned streams, not annuity contracts and not securities. The payments are obligations of top-rated insurers or state lotteries, and every transfer is completed by court order.
Why would an advisor use PSA instead of buying elsewhere?
Two reasons. Access: these payment streams are not typically offered through a traditional brokerage menu, and we open direct access without a minimum. Control: most of our inventory is originated by our sister company, Catalina Structured Funding, so we underwrite the asset ourselves from origination through court approval rather than reselling paper we have not vetted. You place your client into an asset we control and stand behind.
How does suitability work for these assets?
You own the suitability call for your client, as you would with any placement. These are long-term holdings with limited liquidity, backed by a single carrier's obligation and not covered by guaranty associations, so they suit money a client can commit for the long term. We give you the full file, including the carrier, rating, payment schedule, and court status, so you can document the fit.
